Rockwell Manor Master Bedroom

This was the first room we ever designed and renovated together. We started by ripping out the carpet, installing new hardwood floors, and staining them. We went with a lighter stain Minawax Golden Oak with a satin finish. Golden Oak is a classic color that goes with everything. Having a pet and or children, lighter colored floors with low gloss are the way to go! They are going to wear better, showing less scratching and dust.

We then painted the walls with Benjamin Moore Simply White (OC-117) with an eggshell finish. The new baseboard and quarter round we painted the same color but in a semi-gloss.

For DIYers, not only is this a very clean and elegant look, it’s also very forgiving if you do not have the steadiest hand .

We finished up with painting the window trim and french doors Benjamin Moore Black (2132-10). A bold choice for sure, but we knew that it would really make those features, stand out, and we love a good black and white contrast since most of the furniture and finishes we wanted were gradients of black and grey.
