Austin Kitchen

New Home, new Projects! This is the first complete project at our La Maison Stone.
It is amazing what a little bit of paint and backsplash tile can do.

We really wanted to add floating shelves, taking the cabinets down above the sink really opened up the kitchen. But with open shelving there is less storage.

So since we were painting the cabinets anyway, we added two pantry cabinets in the corner of the kitchen and built up the top and painted them the same color as the main cabinets and they look like they were always meant to be there!

The tile we went with was Cloe by Bedrosian Tile & Stone. We love the variation in the tile and the unique shape, through it does make it tricky to install!

The sconces are from our new favorite Etsy Shop MODCREATIONStudio. We have bought from them several times since.

The shelves are custom made by Kaitlyn using red oak plywood and Varathane Dark Walnut stain in a satin polyurethane finish.

The cabinet color we ended up selecting was Benjamin Moore Sterling. We have found Benjamin Moore's Advance line in Satin finish holds up the best when painting furniture. The cabinet hardware is from Home Depot believe it or not.

All in all with some help from an electrician and all the materials the total cost was under $4k! But this is with us doing all the heavy lifting. It was a lot of work but we are super happy with how it all turned out.
